Handheld Photosynthetic Activity Meter – Dualex

Dualex is a cutting-edge device designed to measure the chlorophyll and polyphenol content in plant leaves. Using advanced optical sensor technology, it allows for simple, rapid, and non-destructive measurement of chlorophyll, flavonols, and anthocyanins.

Chlorophyll Measurement: Chlorophyll plays a crucial role in photosynthesis and overall plant development. Dualex measures chlorophyll by analyzing the light transmitted through the leaf at specific wavelengths, providing the absolute chlorophyll content in µg/cm².

Unique Combination – Three Key Parameters with One Measurement: With just one measurement, Dualex not only captures the chlorophyll content but also measures flavonols and anthocyanins. Flavonols are primarily synthesized after light exposure and serve as indicators of the plant's light interaction history. Both flavonols and anthocyanins are polyphenols known for their antioxidant properties, helping to reduce cell damage and inflammation. These compounds also contribute to cardiovascular health and may lower the risk of neurodegenerative diseases.

Flavonol and Anthocyanin Measurement: Dualex measures flavonols and anthocyanins by analyzing their effect on chlorophyll fluorescence. Using different light wavelengths to excite chlorophyll, the device captures fluorescence and calculates the results, presenting flavonol and anthocyanin content in relative absorbance.

NBI® – Nitrogen Balance Index: Chlorophyll is often used as an indicator of plant nitrogen status. However, extensive research has shown that polyphenols, particularly flavonols, also serve as reliable indicators of nitrogen status. The NBI® (Nitrogen Balance Index) combines chlorophyll and flavonol data into a single value, offering a more accurate reflection of plant nitrogen levels. This index is less sensitive to environmental variations (leaf age, thickness, etc.) compared to chlorophyll measurements alone.

DropSight® – Sprayer Calibration and Deposition Control Device

DropSight® is a scientifically developed, easy-to-use tool designed to measure the efficiency of spray application and coverage on plant surfaces. By utilizing a specially designed photographic laboratory (LeafLab), UV solution (UView), and the DropSight® smartphone app, it enables precise decision-making for sprayer, atomizer, or nozzle calibration based on accurate data regarding spray deposition and plant coverage.

How Does DropSight® Work? The process is simple and consists of just five steps:

  1. Add the UVIEW solution to the sprayer tank.
  2. Conduct the spray trial.
  3. Collect a batch of leaves.
  4. Follow the prompts in the DropSight® app to photograph the samples in LeafLab.
  5. Download the results from the DropSight® app.

It’s that easy!

The Complete Solution: The DropSight® app, combined with LEAFLAB and UVIEW, offers a complete solution for qualitative and quantitative analysis of UV tracer deposition on leaf surfaces. LeafLab is a portable, on-site laboratory designed for plant leaf UV photography. It uses UV LED lighting with precise wavelength, intensity, and uniformity, optimizing fluorescence for smartphone photography. The UView fluorescent fluid, detected by DropSight® software, allows for accurate measurement and calculation of deposition efficiency.

Benefits of Using DropSight®:

  • Reduce the risk of poor biological control results caused by incorrect sprayer calibration or nozzle settings.
  • Minimize the risk of unacceptable pesticide residues, as well as over-application due to large droplet size or excessive spray dispersion.
  • Prevent losses of plant protection products caused by runoff from excessive application using improperly calibrated sprayers/atomizers.
  • Lower the risk of soil and groundwater contamination due to over-spraying.
  • Assess and quantify the risk of pesticide drift onto neighboring crops.
  • Optimize the use of chemical formulations, avoiding over- and under-application, thus minimizing crop losses and preventing resistance development.
  • Enhance the performance of adjuvants and additives for improved application efficiency.
  • Maximize sprayer performance.
